OUr C.L.E.P. independent Study program

The College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) allows students to earn college credit by demonstrating knowledge they have already gained through work, military service, independent study, or prior coursework. CLEP exams cover a wide range of subjects and can help students save time and reduce the cost of earning a degree. Accepted by many colleges and universities nationwide, CLEP provides a flexible pathway to academic success. By passing a CLEP exam, students can potentially skip introductory courses and move more quickly toward graduation.

Northern Discovery Academy's CLEP Program gives 10th–12th grade students the opportunity to earn real college credit at little to no cost before graduation. Through the nonprofit Modern States platform, students complete self-paced online courses while at NDA, achieve a qualifying score, and receive a voucher to take a CLEP (College-Level Examination Program) exam. CLEP exams allow students to demonstrate their knowledge in specific subjects and potentially earn college credit accepted by many colleges and universities. 

NDA gives your student the support they need to gain the CLEP voucher, which covers the cost of the exam, and gives one-on-one support throughout the class content. This means your student will have the best opportunity to gain college credit now.  

With dedicated instructor support, scheduled class time, and assistance with exam registration, NDA helps students accelerate their academic goals and prepare for future success.

Northern Discovery Academy offers 10th–12th grade students the opportunity to participate in our CLEP Independent Study Program, designed to help students earn college credit while still in high school. The program is provided at no cost for fully enrolled NDA students and is available to hybrid and homeschool students for a minimal fee.

Students enrolled in the program follow a personalized learning plan developed in partnership with an Instructor-Mentor. During scheduled Thursday sessions, students work through self-paced CLEP preparation courses while receiving ongoing academic support, progress monitoring, study strategies, and guidance on challenging concepts. Each semester the student, family, and Instructor-Mentor will plan courses the student may pursue. This means successful students will be able to gain significant amount of exam opportunities.

As students complete their coursework and meet program requirements, NDA assists with exam planning, registration, and preparation for official CLEP testing. Our team is committed to helping students feel confident and prepared every step of the way.
